I am sure this will be exempt from the money back thingy...most electrical things are...plus you would have to buy some blurry discs (soon to be obsolete!)

It's a tongue-in-cheek reference (or should that be dig) at Blu-Ray (blurry as in the image... blurry as in blurray) The first time may have been mildly amusing, but now it is just annoying. A bit like the use of '$ony' instead of 'Sony' meaning they are only interested in the fast buck and not the customer! Probably true, but do we really need such silly and repetative ways of saying it?

Fortunately this is covered by the 16 day refund policy but still, £1300 a heck of a lot to spend just to try it out!!!

If you have anything constructive to contribute to a thread in the Blu-ray players forum - and you do in other forums - then let's hear it, otherwise please don't.

Warning given.

Pot, Kettle?

To answer the original posters question though I don't really see the point. Would you consider buying the Panasonic player if you liked it? If so you can get it cheaper than the full £1300 by shopping around - and many of those stores will do a demo for you anyway.

If you have no inteion of buying it you're wasting the retailers time (and accordingly putting costs up for the rest of us) and your own: what happens if you really like it? You'll be gutted to hand it back. But if it doesn't impress you may be put off all high def...

...plus, as stated, you'll have to buy some BluRay discs that you then won't be able to use until such time as you do invest in a player.

But these are not HD Blu-Ray discs, just standard def ones. You'll not really be seeing what the true potential of the format is using standard def DVDs on a Blu-Ray player, you really need some Blu-Ray discs....
Or did I miss somewhere on the site saying it now rents Blu-Ray discs?

Don't think you did Oakley.

Jamie, I have the Panasonic and while its a fairly ok DVD player it isn't that brilliant. Excellent BD performance though. But don't buy it and judge it by playing DVDs through it.... a little bit unfair on the player to do so
