Zune a worthy replacement??????????
I wanna replace my knackered ipod mini, was gonna get an ipod video, but my Uncle is off to the States next week and I was considering asking him to bring me back a Zune.I know there is software out there to do video conversion, but I am mainly got whack my cd's on it initially and I assume when Zunes marketplace goes live in Europe I can use it then. Will I have any problems running the US version of the supplied software in this country? And the most important question is,is the sound quality as good as the Ipod?Any help gratefully received

For a quick answer, no there's no problem running the software in the UK or anywhere else for that matter, and the sound quality is IMO better than the ipod.
Check out other posts for more information. Those of us who have one think the Zune is great

Re: Zune a worthy replacement??????????
Bearing in mind tomorrow could well see the release of at least one new iPod I'd do nothing.

Re: Zune a worthy replacement??????????
Zune is great, great screen, great navigation, great video playback, that's the main selling feature, for the price of it you won't get better quality video playback ,well unless you buy a PSP..., all depends on if you are going to take advantage of the video playback, or jsut using it for music, if you music collection is only a few GB or less then no point really going for a Zune go for something smaller like a Creative Zen Micro..., but then again for the £80 extra you can get a Zune... pricewise the ZUne is a Great deal...

I am more than happy for anyone to have an opinion provided it's backed by some reasoning. Your simple "ask him to bring back an iPod instead" is hardly a constructive argument.
Do you own a Zune and an iPod Video? do you have sufficient first hand experience of both devices to pass judgement on both and assist the OP with his original question?
Thought not.

Re: Zune a worthy replacement??????????
had my Zune for about 2 weeks now got it off e bay for £140. Have to say so far well pleased with it. Software easy to use. Sound quality really good and have to agree video also. My car kit arrived yesterday and have to say became even more pleased with the system. I now have a view converts at work after one. Have to say i went for one after reading Meansizzler review and well pleased i did

its sounds great just need to pick up a holder now for the zune. Got one on order from e bay also. Thinking about the home docking kit also. A great piece of equipment the zune glad i made the move for one now. Just trying to decide what headphones to go for even though i must say the ones supplied are the best i have ever had free with a system
