DHCP - ON
DNS - OFF (Can't seem to change this)
DNS Server - 192.168.0.1 (IP Address of your router)
PROXY - OFF
NETWORK SPEED - 1Mbps Cable

Re: HD-E1 - internet connection

Hey, thanks for the update, they were the settings I had installed, still get the cant find ot server message when I try a firmware update - any help gratefully recieved.

Just a thought, maybe the Toshiba server is only online when they have a F/W update available.

Thanks

Peter

Re: HD-E1 - internet connection

Peter, I assume that you've got your E1 connected to a router. If so you should have some LEDs on the router that light up when you connect a device eg PC. Are these lit, if not check your network cables? Can you get onto the router setup page (usually via a web interface) if so you maybe able to find which devices are connected to it (look for the MAC address of your E1 in the DHCP list) it should be listed along with the IP address assigned to the player. If all of this looks ok let us know.

Every time I've tried the firmware update, the player has replied with the message that the firmware is already updated, so I would guess that the Toshiba server is online all the time.

Best of luck.

Re: HD-E1 - internet connection

Hi,

Yes the router (Netgear) has the appropriate led lit, looking at the settings the corect IP adress (192.168.0.8) has the same MAC as the HD-E1 (MAC = 00:15:B7:BF:2C:85), still no joy when connecting to the Tosh server.

Re: HD-E1 - internet connection

Toshiba's server was down for the first two days I bought mine; tried again on the third day (without changing anything), and it worked. So to summarise, you may not have a problem at all.

Re: HD-E1 - internet connection

Has there been an update for the E1 ???

Im hearing from other site that the E1 is DTS-HD Ready out of the box???

The only disk available to try this is the Pianist, so I dont know if this is correct or not?

Anyone know what updates are available and what they contain??

R.

No updates to the E1 yet - I am just trying to make sure all aspects of my E1 work - still no luck with the server connection.

Re: HD-E1 - internet connection

Does your E1 come back with any error message when you try to connect? Is there any firewall settings on your router?

Re: HD-E1 - internet connection

Will the Netgear wireless router work with Mac/Airport? has anyone any experience of this.
If yes can someone tell me the specific Netgear router model I should be looking at, there seems to be many models on the market.
thanks
Paul
