Re: Changing a car stereo on a Focus.
It won't be ISO, you'll need an adapter harness. Depending on which stereo you're fitting you may be able to get an interface for the steering wheel controls, this would adapt the connectors as well so you wouldn't need to buy both.
You should be able to get the right parts from a local car hifi or accessories store

Re: Changing a car stereo on a Focus.
Just done mine (02 focus) and it is definately not iso!
You'll need a wiring adaptor and a facia adaptor and the steering remote adaptor if you need that although I wasn't paying £40+ for that one!
Take a look here for the bits.

Re: Changing a car stereo on a Focus.
If you buy the steering remote adapter you dont need the wiring adapter as well. £40 is a bit steep though, you should pay £30 max

I think they're fairly specfic to each manufacturer and sometimes model.

Re: Changing a car stereo on a Focus.
I've got a V-reg focus and looking to do the same, by replacing the radio and tape player with a mp3 cd player, and even better one with an ipod connection. I've been looking at Halfords (yeah I know they are a rip-off) but some of their deals do free or half-price instore fittings. Is that the iso's, adaptor harnesses and blanking plates you are all talking about?

Re: Changing a car stereo on a Focus.
Ford and Peugeot will be different connections.
The free or half price installs at halfords probably wont include any adapters facias required, its likely to just be the labour, although with the right adapter and facia its dead easy to install yourself

Re: Changing a car stereo on a Focus.
Its very easy to do on the Focus, you will need to buy an adaptor for the main loom - £10 and if you want to keep the steering controls another adaptor - £35 + an additional harness to mate the head unit to the loom - £5 you will need to make sure the headunit you choose is steering remote ready. A good place to look is www.caraudiodirect.com you can get some of the pioneer headunits with built in bluetooth. Some of the 2007 have direct ipod access others require a seprate adaptor. Alpine have full speed headunits which work well.
Its best to set a budget and stick to it, you also need to decide exactly what you want. Halfords have an offer on Kenwood at the moment, I think its around £130 and is a headunit and Ipod adaptor.
Fitting wise, autoleads do a face plate but make sure you use the rear support bracket otherwise the front plate can move. The best adaptor is made by a company clled schoce but but its an american product and you will need to import one, cost is about £15
