Yes, they are an HD-DVD backer. However as such they haven't announced any titles and any that come up in the coming soon list are just touted releases, and not official (ie. LOTR Trilogy, Matrix Trilogy, Austin Powers etc). Can't wait for New Line to make an announcement though, I like alot of their releases!

Re: NEW LINE on official hd-dvd web site

Isn't New Line Cinema a supporter of HD DVD from the start? They had been announced together with Warner, Universal and Paramount as releasing HD DVD since November 2004. Why suddenly it's the news?

New Line support has only been rumoured in the past.

Many here have speculated that they have no control over the movies anyway

Re: NEW LINE on official hd-dvd web site

The New Line logo has always been used on materials from the HD DVD PR Group. I don't know why there is so much continued speculation over New Line though. They support both, and this has been clear since Warner went neutral in 2005 before either format launched.

If you want absolute recent proof of this, at the Q&A of Warner's dual format TotalHD discs last night they specifically stated Newline and HBO were excited about those hybrid discs and that LOTR would likely end up a TotalHD disc eventually as they went on to say they are working on the movies and trying to determine the right time to release them.
