Best Podcasts

Got an 80g Ipod for Christmas and have done a quick search for best podcast site on the forum but no joy. Can anyone recommend some good podcast sites?

Also I am not sure how to move old podcasts from Itunes to the Ipod - subscribe only seems to give you the last podcast in that section.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Best Podcasts

I subscribe to these ones. Search for them under the Podcasts section of the iTunes Store.
8 out of 10 Cats
AV Forums (ofcourse!)
Fighting Talk (BBC)
Mark Kermode's Film Reviews (BBC)
Stuff Mag
The Comedy Show
The Now Show
X Box Live Major Nelson
The BBC ones are generally well produced. The podcasts are all reviewed as well which helps.

Connect your iPod, click on the ipod under Devices on the left hand menu, hit Podcasts tab, tick the required box for sync'ing; all or selected, the twiddly gives you the option for deciding how many podcasts you want to sync (eg. all, 5 most recent, etc.).

To decide want podcasts to download to the PC, use Edit-Preferences-Podcasts. This will give you the options when to check for new podcasts, how many to download and how many to keep.

Trust this assists.

Strobe

Thanks very much - I have changed the settings so should get any new podcasts when they arrive. Even though I have selected all podcasts it is still not downloading any historical episodes. Not sure how to get old episodes on the Ipod.
Thanks for your favourites.

Re: Best Podcasts

Best is a very subjective term but these are the ones that I like (all comedy)

Ricky Gervais ( the last 3 he has recorded, the others aren't free)

Thanks for your favourites.
You will only have the historical ones available if they are on the original server;eg. BBC only seem to keep theirs up for a week or so. If you look in the Podcasts bit of your library, hit the little twiddly and any undownloaded avilable podcasts will have a Get button, hit that.

Re: Best Podcasts

Strobe - wow - all sorted now - thanks for that. Not sure why they hide it away like that.

Re: Best Podcasts

The only one that I listen to on a regular basis is the Hospital Records podcast. Probably not very interesting if you don't like drum'n'bass though.

Re: Best Podcasts

Good list from Strobe, which I'd add:

Battlestar Galactica (assuming to watch the programme)
Best of Moyles
The Secret Policemans Ball
Transitions with John Digweed
Podrunner
Rick Gervais

Also tend to download the two London breakfast shows (Virgin and Capital) although don't always listen to them.

Regarding these Ricky Jervais vdeo podcasts, I've found on my 80Gb, when I play them back, if I play as a video podcast the video is very jerky, however in iTunes, if I right click and conver said podcast to Ipod format, these then play perfectly on the iPod. Anyone else experienced this? Its all the podcasts, not just one or two.

Cheers

Evan
