EPG recording timer 'time lock'?

I noticed when using the EPG timer on my Sony RDR-HXD560 the 'modify' option does not allow me to alter the start or finish times for that event. Manual setting of the timer does allow the start/finish times to be modified. My VCR and DVDR when use with Videoplus codes do allow modding of the start/finish times.

The 'man' at my local Curry's reckons *all* recorders which operate from an EPG do not allow post-modding of start/finish times. Is he correct on this point?

Re: EPG recording timer 'time lock'?

The Panasonic allows modding of start and finish times with no trouble (but not by fixed amounts as with some video plus ie set it so a constant 4 minutes is added to the end time - you need to add the time each time you use EPG but it takes you to the rights creen with the exact times as default)

Re: EPG recording timer 'time lock'?

Hi

Pioneer DVD Recorders also allow editing of the timer setting from the EPG.

This some bright idea of Sony's, not allowing you to change the EPG times and has been complained about in this forum before, a search may through something up and any work arounds found.

Regards

Phil
