Marantz 5200 & Sub

Got my FS2AV package arrived from empire yesterday and I've spend 3 hours setting up all the cables and placing wires behind the sofas so it'll be ready for wall mounting at the weekend.
However I wasn't gone wait until the weekend now that the new toy was setup, so I thought I'll give it a quick test to see if the speakers were ok.
So I called up the menu from marantz and went to the test menu and started to run the auto test. At first the rear speakers weren't working. But then I realised I've wired them incorrectly, so that was fixed in no time.
Only thing I am not sure of it the sub woofer where al the speakers plug into. Both volume and bass were set at the middle and I couldn't hear anything from it while it was running the test. Also the cables which plug to the back of the amp, all were for speakers (Front+, Front-, etc.). Sub had an extra cable which was called LFE. When I checked my amp I did not see anything on the back named LFE, so I left that out. What am I doing wrong here?

Probably called sub out and it will be amongst a group of phono connectors for pre-outs.

the sub O/P on the 5200 is documented in the user guide on the pull out page with all the connections showing on it

it's a phono socket in the middle

Yes.
Connect a single phono plug from "monitor out" at the back of the amp (top row, next to CD ins) to the video connection on the front of your TV.

Ian is correct, the sub out your looking for is in the group of phono's called PRE-OUT on the left hand side as you look at the back of the amp,its clearly marked SUBWOOFER.

Got it working now. I was relying on the tests the amp was doing. When the sub didn't make any noise I thought it was faulty. Should really have placed a dvd and tested it that way! :D
Thanks guys.

No, it doesn't. Speakers work fine but not the sub. Do you also have the Marantz 5200 and Mission FS-AV2 speaker set? I was told by mission that some amps don't test the subs at all.

The sub out test tone on this amp is so very low you can barely make it out, rendering it useless IMO.
