Pearl and Dean adverts on DVD?

I have been looking for some cheesy Pearl and Dean adverts, ideally on DVD. I found a website which was selling a 7 minute 8mm Pearl and Dean reel which included some ads as well, but I couldn't get that format onto DVD.

If anyone has a copy of this on VHS I could produce it on DVD.

I have successfully produced a couple of DVDs from VHS tv programs so far.

With the cost of DVDr discs droping all the time I could do it for about 50p.

Need a vhs source first though!!!

Any takers?

I too have asked a lot of people for this as it brings back happy childhood memories, I really liked the old sketches before the films a long time ago, cheesy yes but all the more fun!.

I was going to write to pearl and dean as they have a nice website (with the same them tune ), maybe they have some kind of source still?. I doubt they would mind someone releasing it as divx too, because after all they are an advertising agency.

I am also searching for the Pearl and Dean opening "ba ba baba"
on video. Can you post the URL for the site selling the 8mm reel?
I contacted Pearl and Dean last year and got no reply so after the 3rd unanswered email I gave it up as a bad job.
I have access to telecine equipment at work and could transfer it to DVDR no problem.
I have managed to source some old ads like KIORA, Cresta pop...Its frothy maaan!, an original KFC ad with the Col, some generic buy ice cream/hotdogs/popcorn/cigarettes/drinks etc...
I am still trying to convince the Mrs to wear a skimpy usherette uniform but thats another story!...hehe

Here is the link to the place that was selling the 8mm film:

http://www.thereelimage.co.uk/shorts...inemaads10.htm

Sounds like it's just what everyone is looking for!!!! if it's still available?

CINEMA ADVERTS NO.10
Derann's latest set of ads' packs in the Pearl & Dean pillar opening, Misty' drink that involves the continuous dissolving between girls faces, a spoof on 'Zulu' for 'Silk Cut' cigarettes, 'Holstein Pils Larger with Griff Rhys Jones and Peter 'I've only got one more bottle left in the celler' Cushing,' Martini Bianco (the one with the girl diver, skyrider etc), ~John Smith Larger', an animated item for Kiaora (the little black boy and the crows), a suggestive Lyons Maid 'King Cone' plug and finally the TSB giant cheque pen advert plus the Pearl & Dean closing.

Quite a good selection, some of which I hadn't seen before. Overall quality is pretty good though not outstanding: the P&D opening has some marks on it, otherwise it is ok. The spoof 'Zulu' might appeal to some: could be amusing cut onto the Derann trailer for that film. Worth having for the Peter Cushing 'how nice of you to drop in on me routine' alone.

Distributed by: Derann Films.
Format: Super 8mm.
Supplied on: 1 reel (200ft).
Approximate Running Time: 7 minutes.
Colour & Sound.
Reviewer: Keith Wilton.
Reviewers rating: Print A/B Sound A

i like your thinking - i am looking for a screensaver of the "oil bubbles/psychedelic" type thing they used to play with music back in the day...... I used to stare at the screen for ages watching them things......

have you thought about making your own ads? - a crate of beer and a camcorder could produce a right giggle....

cheers

Just like a classic curry house we (TSG) used to advertise in our local cinema. I've so got to get a copy of the film, it's meant to be very funny.

My boss selling car radios!

Just to show how sad i am, i have just bough x2 custom intro movie trailers from the av-science powerbuy site, they were absolutly very expensive, but they are out of this world with the name of your own cinema and are widescreen and in dd5.1 totally awsome, better not tell the wife if she finds out the cost i think she will take a knife to my testicals

check it out its the ultimate show off when your mates come round

A friend of mine is currently doing a trailer for his home cinema, I had a look at those other ones and they did seem expensive for what they are.
