Sony DVP-NS76H: upscaling over component?

Quick question on the DVP-NS76 of Sony. Can it also upscale to 720p via a component output (supposing it does have component outputs) ?
If so, would I miss anything significant in comparison of going via HDMI ?

The reason I'm asking is that in a few months, I also consider buying the PS3 and my TV only has one HDMI, while I would have a component input free...

Tnx!

Like most players the 76H does not upscale over component. Comparing at SD I found the HDMI picture quality to be better than component, but there was not much difference.
