Should I get a new Router?
Equipment:
Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless G Router - F5D7632uk4.
Problem:
I keep loosing my internet connection (2 to 3 times a day) the only solution is to switch off the router at the mains (sometimes this takes 5-6 or more attempts) to regain the connection.
Anyone have ideas what the problem could be?...should I buy a new router and not a Belkin!!

Re: Should I get a new Router?
Sure it's not your ISP?
I've got a Linksys one, very easy to set up and works like a charm. Just been to my dad's today and set him one up too. Highly recommended.

Re: Should I get a new Router?
Routers are driving me crazy, so I have every sympathy for you. Got son a laptop for xmas. Eventually after 3 weeks managed to get it connected to router, a speedtouch. Fine for the previous 3 weeks before xmas. Used it for 3 hrs xmas morning and took it to his grandmas came home wont connect. Have tried everything, its driving me mad . As to your problem try changing the routers channel in the network config setup, its usually set to auto. You could be getting co channel interference. Also have you tried moving the router to a slightly different position, it may help.

Re: Should I get a new Router?
is your router's losing connection to the net? or is your comp losing connection to the router?

Re: Should I get a new Router?
I have the same router.
I occasionally get this problem; i find the only way to correct it is to reset the router using a pin in the reset hole on the rear of the unit, (hold for 10 seconds or so) to clear and reset to the default settings, then re-input the login information, password etc. via the utility page.
This works but it has happened to me several times though not more than once in a day, it's usually ok for a few weeks.

Had this happen to my Belkin cable router, it gradually got worse until only flashing the firmware would restart it, my guess is the flash RAM was failing. I RMA'd it back to Belkin for a replacement - the lifetime guarantee seems to be the only good feature of Belkin routers
