Day and Date HD-DVD and Blu-Ray Releases

So when do you think we'll start to see hi-def format releases introduced on the same day as SD DVD's?

Re: Day and Date HD-DVD and Blu-Ray Releases

It's already happened - Mission Impossible 3 went day and date on DVD, HD DVD and BluRay.

Hopefully it will start happening more often and eventually become standard.

Re: Day and Date HD-DVD and Blu-Ray Releases

I guess it's one of the things that both formats can do to gain more credibility rather than continually reissuing back catalogue titles that people have already seen.....

Although if Mr Warner Bros is listening I wouldn't say no to another version of Michael Mann's Heat with a TruHD soundtrack and new (as long as it's not mpeg2) video encoding being released.

Re: Day and Date HD-DVD and Blu-Ray Releases

As already mentioned there have already been a few day and dates (MI3, Superman Returns, Ant Bully, the re-issues of Superman and Superman 2, Little Man, Ice Age 2, Monster House, Slither, Nacho Libre, The Lake House, Lady In The Water, Click and The Break-Up)

Quite a few more coming as well,
Hollywoodland, Babel, Half Baked, Alexander: Final Cut, The Departed, The Covenant, Crank, Employee Of The Month, Gridiron Gang, Guardian, Saw 3, Flyboys, Open Season, Grudge 2, Running With Scissors, Marie Antoinette, The Marine, The Prestige, Stranger Than Fiction and Payback: Directors Cut.

All day and date releases with their DVD equivalent.
