Re: pioneer blu ray player

Heard good things about it over at AVS forum, probably looking at the best part of £1000 imported though, its the best player available though, i think a PS3 at under half the price is a much better option though.

Re: pioneer blu ray player

It's been getting very good reviews although the only concern is that people are hoping for a firmware update to enable some of the more advanced audio formats. Pioneer are not clarifying the situation in case it affects retail sales.

And it would appear that the lock ups that have been experienced by some users on the Sony don't appear to be happening on the Pioneer.

Pioneer aren't the best for giving firmware upgrades for their CE devices - loads of people who brought their DVD recorders were left high and dry when new DVD-RW specs were released. Despite simple firmware upgrades on their PC drives, the CE department refused to update the set-top players.

That said the Pioneer does look like a decent enough player...just don't expect a firmware upgrade.

Re: pioneer blu ray player

They've got a US one in Harrods. They said the UK price would be £1,800 (I took that with a large pinch of salt).
