Re: PS3 hits the 1 million mark.
It's all about credibility, why are Broshnat & Tadj so credible to some? Their website looks like a ten year old knocked it up.

Secondly, Famitsu for Japanese equivalent.
Both these sources data are credible and quoted over many a website and magazine once they are published every month.

Maybe Sony did sell 1,000,000 PS3 this year -- only 1,000,000 more to go in last week of year to hit their 2006 target -- but I would prefer to see credible data before simply quoting links from amateur sites. (Speaks he who got slammed for posting link from another amateur nex-gen sales figure site.)

Re: PS3 hits the 1 million mark.
My bet is these kinds of figures are as credible as car sales these days.
Shop allocations counted as sales etc etc.

nope
dont own any sony gear except a ps2, thinking of buying a ps3 but am unsure of what to do for hddvd.
Im getting rather tired of people leaping on everything thats posted about bluray, 'facts' about yields, random posts about the 'dreadful' samsung player, everything negative, its really quite difficult to find any proper facts in amongst the rumours and mistruths, yet digging around finds that hddvd isnt that clever all the time, disks damage, players lock up, but no-one shouts and screams about that. Badass gets abused all the time, and its all a little sad! We are all grown-ups, yet its like a creche!!!!!
Hows the Toshiba dealership coming?
nothing is discussed sensibly anymore, it all descends into fanboi stuff.

That's why NPD and Famitsu are useful, they count items sold by (not shipped to) retailers. Their numbers are as near to 'fact' as public will ever get hold of.

Re: PS3 hits the 1 million mark.
1 million PS3s = 75,000 BD players! And that's a conservative estimate!
So that's how BD is catching up!

I'll look forward to the sales figures showing the same trend then...
