Re: PS3 users Polled on Blu-ray purchases

The first few posts on that link are quite funny tho'

The proof will be in the pudding! Will they and how many? same goes for 360 of course, but then I don't expect either console to have a massive effect, particularly as the Wii is out selling the PS3 at least 4:1

But the Wii don't play HD.

87% is a massive amount of BD sales. If true. Now if they all only bought from amazon.

Re: PS3 users Polled on Blu-ray purchases

I don't think many PS3 owners will think it's such a big issue, if they want a DVD they'll just buy the better quality Blu-Ray version, no big dilemas of whether to go high def or not.

Talking about something for the family (kiddies)

The Wii is only half of the price compared to a PS3 so that's no news

Re: PS3 users Polled on Blu-ray purchases

Also Sony are having supply problems, they are selling every PS3 they make. If they could make 4 times the number of PS3's, they would still sell every one and it would be 1:1 with the Wii.

Although by the same thinking the Wii's are selling out as soon as they hit the shops also, so if Nintendo could make more they would sell more also...

Re: PS3 users Polled on Blu-ray purchases

So where are these mythical sales then?

Cos since it's US launch (weeks ago) there's precious little sign of these supposed thousands itching to buy Blu-ray movies (what with x-mas almost here etc etc).

Nevermind the propaganda, it's more than a bit strange that, don't you think?

there are not any sales figures floating about, only the dvdwars pages, and thats not entirely accurate, the google search at the bottom is fudged in hdddvd favour, the old version had an option to change bluray to blu ray or blu-ray, which altereted the result...i would like to see PROPER sales figures

Out of under 500 people polled on a ps3forum lol, come of it mate i bet that amounts to 500 discs if that lol. I have no doubt there will be a percentage who may buy movies now and then for there ps3s but it wont be to the level of say a standalone player of even the hddvd addon for 360. I mean i remeber people saying how good umd was going to take off because of all those playstation forum poles asking if they planed to buy a umd movie.

Re: PS3 users Polled on Blu-ray purchases

lol the people who probably use it as a blurry player too , probably purchased it from ebay for £1000 ... common how many ps3 purchasers actualy purchased the console for them self.

To Sony that doesn't matter, it's still a sold console. Even if Sony sells 3 mil consoles, I bet more than half of it belongs to an owner who actually does something with it

True but i was pointing at the price £1000 so blurry player was still expensive

I still think ps3 will be used mainly for games and same goes for xbox 360 but atleast with hd-dvd addon 100% of the time it is used for movie viewing but with ps3 there is no way to track this accurate.

SONY!!!!!!

most things will outsell these formats for a few years.

I see that the hd-e1 is sold out on the curry web site very fast .... unlike the blurry players they had on that never ever got sold out
