Does this seem a bit quick to anyone else? I think it is quick from cinema to Blue-Ray.

Thats not nice ... I want it on HD-DVD.

If the release is in March, then that makes it over 4 months from release in cinema - this seems to be standard if not longer than usual for movies now.

This is one of the main reasons why I would want a BD player, luckily the PS3 should be out at the some time!

Ok, I thought it might have to do with the PS3.

No - it's a Sony property I'm afraid - hence the sublime Sony advertising throughout the film, e.g. Vaio laptops!

I think that is a foregone conclusion - hopefully they will include the excellent making of documentaries included on the DVDs. I don't watch extras but I made an exception for those as they were so informative. I really didn't know so many stunts were done 'for real' - I just assumed many were just trick photography.

Interestingly the cover art shown doesn't appear to be styled for one of a series though like the DVDs. I they might opt for none themed cases - or maybe there is one on the spine.

Subliminal is a bit of an understatement isn't it, I finally watched it yesterday and it was a 2 and a half hour Sony advert, it starts with the Sony walkman (within the first minute), there is a bank of Blu-ray players, numerous Sony HD-TVs, a Sony cybershot, more Sony Viao's than you could shake a stick at and every Sony Ericsson that is currently available.

I don't mind a bit of product placement in a film, but that was just completely over the top.

Don't count too much on the PS3 being out in March:

skip=yes
Sony's head of Worldwide Studios Phil Harrison recently told Official PlayStation Magazine that he
wouldn't like to make any definitive statements about the March rollout for PS3.

Sony quickly followed that up with a statement re-confirming PS3 is on track for March 2007 across
Europe. But speculation of a further delay just won't go away.

High placed sources within the industry have already been tipping April as a more realistic launch
window the for console. But a source has told CVG that a PS3 delay as far back as September
2007 is now far more likely, pointing the finger of delay at - yes you guessed it - "component
shortages". And let's face it, you don't launch a console in summer.

Personally, if it's it just out on Blu Ray, I'll stick with standard DVD.

I've no interest in buying a PS3, even if they were available, and a standalone Blu Ray player is just too expensive at the moment, especially when you compare it to the £130 add-on for the 360.

I'm not expecting to get hold of one in March (I'm not convinced it will be out then either), but I do intend to get it and Casino Royale will be one of the first Blu-Ray discs I get when I do.

And yes the HD-DVD drive for the 360 is ace.

Continuing this thread from the other thread by Badass...

Casino Royale was the most obvious Blue-Ray release of all the films coming out.

I am refusing to buy a PS3 till, at the earliest, Jan '08 so if they don't release it on HD DVD I will be pretty miffed. I figure I won't buy a PS3 till there are at least 5 games I want which are exclusive to the PS3 and if Sony don't like it then they should sit down and have a serious rethink about continually screwing over their European customers in favour of the US and Asia. I may rent CR when it is released.
