The Best VCR (Within A Teen's Budget)?

Hi

There have probably been many other topics of this nature in the past, so before I start I apologise. However, owning a fair few old VCRs, I'm beginning to wonder whether my Panny is maybe not the best option to feed my PJ?

I hardly ever use the VCR with the PJ, but when I do (once every two months probably) the picture is awful. ATM the signal is coming from a Scart-composite adapter.

So, what's the best VCR? Is there such thing as 'upscaling VCRs'?

Jez

You won't get any good picture by a VCR on a projector and that is before the crap composite signal. Even my laserdisc on composite looks lousy.

Re: The Best VCR (Within A Teen's Budget)?

....and before you ask; there's no such thing as a VCR with RGB. In fact, only SVHS machines ever had S-Video; all regular machines can only do "composite" at best. The mechanics (if I may call it that) of domestic video tape recordings mean that the picture is a massive compromise. Improving the way you handle the signal is unlikely to actually improve your picture.
