DTI6300 - 16 Anytime box -Questions

Hi,

Received my Top up anytime DTR box yesterday and so far I am a little dissapointed. Would like a search facility so I can find stuff to record rather than spend ages looking for things to set. Little slow to move channels aswell and PQ is worse than the one built into my Sony tv.

Couple of quesitons though,

*Is there a way to link this unit with my MCE computer so I can use the MCE front end for better control.

*What is the usb socket used for on the front of the DTR box?

thanks

David

Hi David,
Unfortunately I doubt you can control the PVR from your computer.
The USB in the front apears the only way one can manually update the firmware on the machine (no serial ports). You cant transfer recordings through it either but in the future who knows...

What might be a good idea is to put the TUTV Anytime viewing card into the slot on a Humax PVR to view and record the TUTV Anytime content and sell the Thomson box on ebay. On the Humax the you can search for programmes you like or by genre including the TUTV and TUTV Anytime programmes, and make your choices that way. The USB on the Humax is for transfering recordings to a PC or mac - not for software updates. Software updates are either over the air or via the serial port from a PC. See www.pvrjunction.co.uk/compare

Re: DTI6300 - 16 Anytime box -Questions

Over the last day I have recevied 8 messages on my box saying that files have been deleted straight after being recorded becasue they are corrupted. Most of them seem to be called "Drivetime" and based around various Audi cars!? I haven't set these to record and don't know where they are coming from. Corrupt is obviously a worrying word. Does anybody else have this problem and can anybody help?? Just to note, I haven't paid to the TUTV. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hi all,

I also had this problem. There were two TUTV channels that were causing the trouble. Disabling these channels stopped the problem. Unfortunatley, I've just swapped my thomson for a new one (and can't remember the names). I think they were the Showcase and Info channels.
