Thomson DTI 16300-16 top up tv Anytime Box

Anyone get their new Thomson Box this morning ? Seems to work well and after de-activating 3 channels and probably more tomorrow (this has freed up an extra 6 hours of disc space to 26 hours) I feel better about minimizing rubbish recordings.

Initially the PQ through scart - rgb - Mirai 527V200 was awful but after a half dozen retunes and resets things are beginning to improve and it's a definite good buy for £75 plus a further £120/years subscription to TUTV.

Nope, not got it yet, but very interested in your opinions on the service generally, unless there is a more specific thread somewhere?

and only 20 hours of free user space???!

I've deactivated a few more unwanted channels and now the freespace is upto 34 hrs, the box works well but the majority of the anytime programmes are for me at least, rubbish.

Here's a link to the DS thread.

You guys are lucky.

Mine is totally stuffed.

During playback, no matter what you watch, every 5 minutes or so it jumps forward several minutes.

Spent £6 so far trying to call their customer services, only to be told that all problems will be solved with a "Software Update" on 8th January.

So, no Christmas TV then.

Sky+ here we come.

It sounds like you need to do a couple of resets and formats - this is what I did a couple of weeks ago but YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR RECORDINGS.

1)Menu
2)Set-Up
3)Help
4)Green
5)Red > Factory Default
6)Blue > Format HDD

If you reset and reformat it will take a few minutes each (orange light remains on before changing back to red), I did a least a couple of each and now the box works very well and the PQ and audio via scart are quite exceptional.

Power down the box by removing 8 shaped plug at the rear, remove Top Up Card and give a wipe clean - fully reinsert card the correct way (instruction book) and power up - leave switched on and tuned to channel 5 and contact the link below.

When the card is activated it should read something like 800000040000002.

I power down the box quite often and change the polarity of the supply - turn over the 8 shaped plug

Re: Thomson DTI 16300-16 top up tv Anytime Box

My mate got one last week as an existing customer so there was a discount of about £20 I think. His box keeps locking up and has to be unplugged to restart it and he set a programme to record but it reports it as there but 0 minutes long and it will not delete. It looks a good idea but it will need some bugs ironing out if it's going to gain a following. It takes a long time to set itself up when first plugged in as well so it may not suit everyone.
