Had the opportunity to watch this last night and have to say that it's pretty good, but not great.

The story is that to be a Penguin, you need a heartsong. And every single one of them has one...except 1, mumbles. Born a little bit behind the others, he shows himself to be a terrible singer, but his feet are a different story. They can move, and dance making their own music, but it doesn't endear him to the rest of the Penguins. So he goes in search of the reason why their fish supplies are diminishing, and finds that you don't need to be able to sing to have a heartsong.

The Animation is absolutely top notch, full marks there and the integration of live action people into it is pretty much seamless. Had to say the songs were pretty good too (I did feel my toes tapping more than once), though after all the different trailers I expected more, maybe my expectations were a little too high. Voice talent is everywhere but I have to say that Robin Williams as Ramon does stand out for laughs. As for the story, it starts off simply enough, but by the last 3rd kind of feels a little disjointed, and this is why I'm saying it's good...but not great. I will watch it again when I'm less tired and it will be in my HD-DVD collection when it's released though.

Definitely one that the kids will love and will more than entertain the adults too. One of the better animated films of the year, and I'm sure from repeated viewings it'll definitely grow on me!
