That song in Star Trek IV
Remember the classic scene with Kirk , Spock & the punk on the bus? Yes that's the song I mean.
"I Hate You" by The Edge Of Etiquette.
Well I'm trying to get clarification on the lyrics. This is what I've got so far (the blank denote bit's I can't quite make out)
Something, something Future,
the things we've done and said,
let's just push the button,
we'd be better off dead.
Co's I hate you,
And I berate you,
And I can't wait to get to you.
Something, something, something,
Something, something done,
The only choice we're given is
how many mega-tons
And I eschew you,
And I say screw you,
And I can't wait to get to you.
We're all bloody worthless........
Any further suggestions?

Hi,
I couldn't find the relevant song lyrics, either by song title or artists name. However, I did find this news!
The Edge of Etiquette's lead singer is Kirk Thatcher:
KT was...
- Was associate producer of Star Trek 4 (aka ST4).
- Was the actor who played the Punk on the Bus in ST4.
- Wrote the song "I Hate You" which the punk was listening to.
- has recently done work on the "Dinosaurs" series (Co-producer and creature creator?) which had an episode with the same plot as TNG one week.
- Is Margaret Thatcher's son. Yes - THAT Margaret Thatcher!
Will let you know if I find anything more relevant.

Well researched Pooch, but it's the lyrics that need refining.
I was raised on this sort of East Coast Punk (Black Flag, Dead Kennedys etc).
Managed to get an MP3 copy of the song, but it hasn't help much with the words.
Come on folk, help us out
(And for those who as dis-inclined we'll double dumb ass on you).

How bored must I have been trying to find this but here you are enjoy.
"I HATE YOU"
Lyrics by Kirk R. Thatcher
Music by Mark Mangini
(to be sung Allegro con Temptible)
Just what is the future?
The things we've done and said.
Let's just push the button.
We'd be better off dead!
And I hate you!
and I berate you !
and I can't wait to get to you...
The sins of all the fathers,
being dumped on us - the sons
The only choice we're given is:
How many megatons?
So I eschew you!
And I say "SCREW YOU"!
And I hope you're blue too!
We're all bloody worthless,
Just greedy human scum,
The numbers all add up
to a negative sum...
And I hate you!
And I hate you!
And I hate you...too!
(Repeat in angry scream 'til hoarse -- or blood sprays from throat. Whichever comes first...)
This piece courtesy of & copyright Kirk R. Thatcher
