Lost DVD's

I ordered some DVD's that were shipped 16/7. Usually they arrive well within a week and I am now beginning to think that they have mysteriously got 'lost' on route.

I have no doubt that the supplier shipped them but is there any recourse with them if they have been 'lost'?

Hoping someone can help - thanks in advance!

If they were shipped from outside of the UK, then they could be held up at customs for checking.

Also, if the post office attempted delivery but there was no answer, it can take ages for them to re-attempt delivery (I had this once and it took 6 weeks - they didn't even leave a card to tell me they had attempted delivery the first time )

The parcels could also just be caught up in the system for other reasons (e.g. originally processed incorrectly).

You can contact the supplier after the period of time they specified and they should despatch replacements to you. Otherwise, if you ordered with your credit card, the credit card company should cover you (especially if they have Internet purchase cover, e.g. Barclaycard).

MATTS

Get someone to ask your postman if he has seen any decent DVDs lately, chances are he will have watched the one that "went missing"

Once didn't receive a disc from CD-Wow.

E-mailed them after 10 days, they said give it 3 more days. I did, still no show, e-mailed them again, refund or replacement sir?

Got a refund as I was going to be away for 2 weeks, CC refunded 5 days later!

Excellent customer service.

TBH, that's the only one I have never rec'd, out of probable >100 ordered on line, & it was resolved very quickly & painlessly.

There, now you can sleep easy again

Yeah, well this is the first time Ive had one go missing as well, but the replacement seems to have gone walkabout also which is a bit annoying as it looks like Im gonna be waiting over 28 days to get an item which I normally receive from play in about 4-5 days !!

Yes, I had the same thing happen with Play. DVD went missing, eventually sent a replacement, that one didn't turn up either! They eventually sent another one, but warned me that they may have to consider removing me from their mailing list as I clearly had a problem! The third one did arrive. This is the only 'no show' I have experienced, and I buy £200 worth of mail order DVDs a month from CDWOW, Futureent, Ezydvd, Play, Movietyme etc.

I sometimes wonder if some of the guys working in the despatch rooms of some DVD suppliers deliver some customers' DVDs to their own addresses .... Perhaps by hand as well as by first class post....

Thanks for your responses guys. The firm I ordered from was a well known Australian one.

I still haven't received my DVD's!

Are they legally obliged to send a replacement or do some simply do so as a gesture of goodwill?
