Will a Freeview receiver work in Australia?

Hi, I know that Freeview uses the same DVB-T technology in the UK as in Australia, but I believe there are some differences in the way it has been implemented. Does anyone have direct experience of using a UK Freeview receiver successfully for free-to-air digital in Australia?

Re: Will a Freeview receiver work in Australia?

I'm about to find out as I've taken my 3 flat screens with built in tuners over and they'll be here on the 1st of Feb. The Pioneer customer services were excellent and they said that the tuner in my PDP-435XDE would work but Panasonic both in the UK and Australia have been hopeless. If you find out before me then please let me know......

I believe Oz also has high definition over terrestrial TV.
Existing European gear won't be compatible with that.

Yeah we're only talking here about SD transmissions.
