Would an AV sender work with a TV with built-in Freeview?

Does anyone know how these AV senders work? I want to get an AV sender for my dad for Xmas, and he has a TV with built-in Freeview. Does each AV sender have an aeriel coming out of it maybe? If so then maybe I could plug the aeriel into the DVD recorder output? Because I'm sure the TV aeriel output will be being used.

You haven't been too clear in your post about what you want to achieve.
Do you want to connect an AV sender to the TV so you can send the Freeview from it to another room?...or do you want to send the signal from the DVDR to the TV?
AV senders connect to the scart sockets...they do not connect to the aerial.

Re: Would an AV sender work with a TV with built-in Freeview?

Well there is a TV with a built-in Freeview box in one room downstairs, and another room with a TV in it upstairs, and I want to be able to transmit the Freeview signal to the second TV, and be able to change the channel using the Freeview remote control in the upstairs room, which some claim they can do. Only problem is, I was in a shop in town today and they think that it doesn't work with TV's with built-in Freeview.

Most modern IDTVs will output the Freeview signals for recording (or in your case connecting to a TV sender) from one of the scart sockets.
Report back with the make/model no.
The only drawback is you are stuck to viewing whatever it's outputting...you cannot watch a different Freeview channel or analogue channel at the same time.

Re: Would an AV sender work with a TV with built-in Freeview?

Yeah but the only problem there is that he will probably have the TV going to the DVD recorder through the SCART socket, which would mean getting a SCART splitter, which would be too much messing around. I'll try and find out the make and model.

A second freeview box may be a cost effective alternative.
