Buzzing Noise

Connecting my new Wharfedale DV832 to an alba 14" TV/DVD combi resulted in great picture results but an annoying buzzing in the background which seemed to change in loudness depending on the brightness of the picture .
Using a friend's Sony freeview on this set reulted in a good picture and no noise in the background .
What is the cause of this noise please .sounds like some kind of interferrence from another source but not with the Sony set up.
Thanks in advance.

It may just be faulty...best bet is to try it on another TV then you'll know.
