Cyrus Linkport and Imerge S200 server

Has anyone tried the Cyrus Linkport client with an Imerge S2000 server?
I have to add an extra 2 zones to an existing system (Imerge and NP200 clients) and Imerge have discontinued the NP200.
I may be able to get some Cyrus Linkports instead.
So far nobody can tell me they will definitely work.
Cyrus tech help say it 'should' work.

I would prefer a definite 'will' work before I go ahead.

Hi;

Cyrus Linkport does work with Imerge S2000 - the only difference was in the screen printing on the front panel

Regards
James

Re: Cyrus Linkport and Imerge S200 server

Thought as much but someone put doubts in my mind about compatibility.
Have you actually seen it working?

Thanks in advance

Ok I just had a look at your profile.

Re: Cyrus Linkport and Imerge S200 server

Yes. The firmware is identical in Linkport and NP200. Both Linkservers and S2000's appear in the list of available servers on NP200 and Linkport.

Onkyo's Netune receivers and their own version of the NP200 also reportedly work.

Are you already using NP200's with this server in this install?

Re: Cyrus Linkport and Imerge S200 server

Yes there are 2 X wired NP200's and the S2000 is in the main AV room. There are another 2 rooms now being renovated and I have run CAT5 from them back to a router in the main room.
I can rest easy tonight!

Re: Cyrus Linkport and Imerge S200 server

Do you know what the Onkyo model number was for their equivalent unit by any chance ? Onkyo have released some firmware updates for their Net-Tunes players that handle newer streaming formats (Internet Radio working again) - and also new Net-Tunes Central software. I would really like to try this on an Imerge NP200 unit but slightly nervous I'll 'brick' it or make it unable to access the S2000 server.

Re: Cyrus Linkport and Imerge S200 server

The Onkyo product was the NC-500. However it had some differences in its setup so I wouldn't like to bet that the update will load on an NP200 (or work correctly)... Hope that helps.
