Denon AVR-3802 & Optical via Sky+ - anyone got this working?

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has the AVR-3802 and managed to get it working with Optical with Sky+.

I connected mine up to Sky+ on Sat and get no sound. So I am wondering if this is down to the Denon+Sky issue?

You have to assign the digital inputs to the setting on denon amps
just take a couple of prozac and read through the excellent (sic) manual.

I have connected to optical 1 on the amp and then went into the settings and assigned it.... but nothing

Works on my Denon although it's not a 3802. Have you tried another Optical Input in case that one is faulty? I have the Sky+ digital output set to Dolby D.

what was it? the Sky box not being set or the wrong optical input?...heh

with me it was the fact i'd stuck it in the Optical Output on my 3803 as the optical inputs dont go from Input 1 down, they go the other way
then i decided to pull the unit out to read the labels and check and realised my mistake...heh...nearly sent it in to be repaired as it was still just under the 2 year warranty...lol

To be honest I don't think there was anything up with Optical 1... I just had to press auto on the front of the 3802 and it found it.

On the subject of Sky+ and Optical leads for audio into the Denon 1906 - I notriced that you can adjust the optical delay on the Sky settings and you can do the audio delay on the amp. Which is best? Or don't it make any difference? out of interest I have mine set to 60 ms delay at the amp. Rich...

Not sure if I have the delay option on mine... but I have made no adjustments and all is OK.

Was watching An Audience With Take That on Sat night and sound through my system was bloody brilliant. Well impressed I can tell ya.

sky+ has optical delay?? aww...wish i'd known this sooner...lol

i'm forever having to go in to my amps delay menu and change it as i have some video going direct to PJ, some thru the amp etc....right, time to go play...heh

edit: erm..wheres the option for delay on sky+ box? (Pace PVR3 here)
