Moorgate Acoustics Cyrus musical evening

Just to let you all know, Moorgate Acoustics are hosting a musical evening on the 7th of December 2006 for the launch of the new Cyrus components.

That's not all though, Dynaudio and SIM will also be there. Mike Picanza from Dyanudio and Chris Jackaman from SIM will join Paul Web and Richard Chateley from Cyrus and be on hand to demonstrate, chat and answer all your questions.

The main shop area will be driven by a Cyrus/Dynaudio system. The Cyrus DAB tuner will be featured here. Outside, Dynaudio will bring along their demonstration car filled to the brim with their in car system!

The main demo room will be used to demonstrate the new Cyrus VS2 amps, as well as the new pre/power and finally the advantages of PSX-R and bi-amping. This will be done using B&W 804s loudspeakers.

They also have a smaller area off the shop and this will be set up using a CD6s/6vs2 and Swiss Piega loudspeakers - a remarkably compact design.

Upstairs will be demonstrating a state of the art home cinema system using Cyrus electronics, Wilson Benesch loudspeakers (Acts, Arcs, Centre & Torus sub). For vision will be a 10 foot screen and a Sim 1080p (Domino 80) projector with an anamorphic lens, this gives full 2:35.1 ratio! So no black bars!! Here will definately be previewed the new Cyrus DVD player and hopefully the new processor (fingers crossed). We anticipate that this system will be one of the best ever set up in Yorkshire.

Finally - anyone attending will enter a draw (drawn on the night) for a Cyrus DAB tuner, which will be awarded to the winner. There will also be a sales incentive for anyone wishing to purchase/order on the evening.

Wine/drinks and light refreshment will be provided by the lovely catering team and the whole evening promises to be great entertainment.

Tickets are still available by emailing Moorgate sales@moorgate.demon.co.uk or calling them on 0114 2756048

Sounds nice.

On the otherhand... I've never thought much about Cyrus. And Wilson Benesch seem novelty. Though Dynaudio have their place, I'm sure.

Out of interest, what do you mean by 'Wilson Benesch seem novelty'? I'm interested as I know the owners and their products very well. Having heard lots and lots of other speaker designs, I feel these are world class!

I don't even come from Sheffield.........

You don't have to come form Sheffield.

...As for the novelty issue... I've heard the Arc and Discovery's and from the materials used, I found them to be more novelty than the emphasis put onto them when concerning sound reproduction.

Assuming this is not a commercial ad,please refrain from turning this into a debate over the relative merits or otherwise of one manufacturers gear.
