Cable TV - do I need the decoder supplied?

I've just subscribed to a cable service that is provided via a DVB-compliant digital tuner (Motorola DVi1000).

Since my TV, a Samsung LE32R73BD, has a built-in digital tuner, can I bypass the Motorola and plug the cable straight into the back of my TV, and receive all the channels?

I would doubt it very much.

Me too. Your TV will have a DVB-T tuner in it but cable services use DVB-C. They are different standards and are not interoperable.

Re: Cable TV - do I need the decoder supplied?

Don't you also need to use the subscription card? Which I'm sure your TV doesn't have a place for...
