Okay, apologies if this has been asked before, have done a quick search but couldn't find it myself, although I did manage to answer a few other questions I had.......so this will be a much shorted message than originally thought!

Basically I have Sky Broadband installed and connected, but have been having trouble with keeping a connection. Originally I was using AVG Virus and a ZoneAlarm firewall and though this might have been causing problems....I had disabled them when installing BB. As it still seemed slow and unstable I removed AVG and ZA and, against my better judgement, reinstalled SBB with the free McAfee software......it worked for all on and off and then I had real trouble connnecting last night....removed it all and started again with ZA and AVG (never really had much luck with McAfee in the past) and things seem to be working okay....for now....settings in ZA are all medium, anything higher and it hangs.....

Otherwise SBB has been great, twice as fast as Tiscali and £10 a month cheaper.....

Just wondering if anyone has any advice about how to set up SBB with ZA etc with the least trouble....or whether perhaps I need to be thinking of an alternative firewall? Have only this morning found out how to get into the router settings with the preset passwords that Sky set-up and never told me about......so will be able to look in there tonight.....but any advice would be appreciated....

Thanks in advance

Mark

Pop.sky.com
Smtp.sky.com

were the setting that Sky told me to use....

give them a go....although you may have to fiddle around with them if you are not using them to get a Sky email account...I am on BTINTERNET and I think I had to chop and change until I found one that worked.....and I know this might sound stupid, but I did notice that if you change any account deatils in Outlook Express, they are not activated until you shut down and re-start the application.......I am a novice at all this, so don;t laugh too much!
