Do I have to throw my subwoofer out?!

I am in the position where I want to buy an Xbox 360, and the only place I can put it is where my subwoofer currently is.

This means that the only place to put the sub is behind a TV unit, suspended 1 inch off the ground, with no clearance space.

By this I mean that the front hole of the sub is open but the side speaker will face directly into the back piece of plywood of the TV unit, as we want the tv unit as flush as possible to the wall.

Is it OK to place the sub like this?

Thanks in advance.

Can't you turn your sub over so that the cone points upwards while still leaving the reflex port clear of the furniture?

Re: Do I have to throw my subwoofer out?!

Hi,

No it is a Pioneer slim sub, not an expensive type, came with a 5.1 system. It is a passive sub (no seperate power)

The actual speak part is on the side, so I dont have space other than to point it towards the wall or tv unit with no psace inbetween.

The manual says I cannot use any the make of speaker or sub...is this true?

can i just get a cheap small sub and use that?
