The Lord Of The Rings has best picture quality for me. Looks amazing, lots of colours, fantastic scenes, beautiful skies.

Is there much of a noticable difference on Superbit releases? I would imagine they should look better, but I've never seen one myself.

But a lot of the film is greyish/greenish colour. If you have a brighter film like iRobot or Spiderman you can really show off your system.

Basically,
Superbit looks pretty good in so-so system, but almost in the same quality with high quality widescreen DVD version if you use High End System. My I-Robot DVD with DTS Sound is on the same par with "The One" Superbit movie with DTS Sound both in picture and sound quality. I used at non - upscale resolution (as-is) only do by fine tuning (80Hz frequency in my Pioneer system, if standard tune it will use 50/60Hz) and progressive scan. I think even if do by upscale the result is not much. I don't know it is because I-Robot movie material that used HD Recording system or because in fact no different at all. But even my "The Promise" DVD Widescreen Edition looks the same with "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" Superbit Edition both sound and pictures quality. Thought maybe actually Superbit and Hi Quality DVD recording used the same limitation on VOB DVD format. Even if I record movie at DivX format on 4000 Kbit/s bitrate (720x480pixel) it is the same or almost the same with Superbit quality. Not sure if it is because the same pixel rate.

I thought x-men 3 had a great transfer with good solid blacks.

Maybe it was just my TV, but I thought X-Men 3 had terrible edge enhancement, lots of it was just all pixellated.
