Anyone got experience of the Ikea Bonde bench?
Hey there,
about to move into my new place and been looking for an av bench with doors. I want doors to keep everything out of sight, but still want the remotes to work... So I've seen the Bonde bench in Ikea [clickie] and like the look of it (though I wouldn't have the legs on it)... just wondering if anyone has one and got any feedback about it. For reference, I'll be using it for my 40" V Series Bravia, DVD player, SKY+ box, VCR, PS2, GameCube, Dreamcast and AV amp... So any thoughts/feedback would be greatfully received... Cheers in advance, - S |

Guess that would be a 'no' then...
Oh well, I'm installing mine this weekend so when I'm done I'll post a mini-review type thing. For those of you interested I've attached a pic of it. I'm intending to construct it without the horrible legs... - S |

Re: Anyone got experience of the Ikea Bonde bench?
I was at Ikea at the weekend looking for something similar but found that the bonde wasn't deep enough for my sony 1200ES amp. It was only 40cm deep and I needed 43cm minimum. So I got a benno instead.

__________________i have a very large HK amp in there with sky+ box, 360 and dvd player, taken the back off on middle 2 cupboards for airing of equipment the outer 2 are just lit up with lil coloured shapes for decorative reasons lol. does a nice job of keeping the room looking tidy, however i do wish the frosting was a bit thicker at times on the glass. had no heat, resonance or noise issues had all my kit in there for about 3 months now no probs, and my amp is a big bugger, with banana plugs for all speaker connections making it even deeper, but as said back is off on these bits for airflow, especially needed with my amp and 360, they warm the house up lovely ![]() Harman Kardon AVR230 Amp. Re: Anyone got experience of the Ikea Bonde bench?
Just a quick update.
Got mine sorted now (tho still haven't taken delivery of my AV amp yet so excuse the old school speakers and amp!). Easy to put together, think it looks great without the legs too. No sound resonance or heating issues that I can determine. Only problem I've had is having to add extra holes in the back to feed cables through - but other than that I think it's perfect for what I wanted. Oh, and I think it looks quite nice too! Apologies for Mark Lawrenson's mug being on the photo but I was watching Football Focus... hehe - S AV Goodness :: SONY Bravia KDL-46V3000 :: Yamaha RX-V3800 :: Yamaha NSF101 Surround :: Yamaha YSTSW225 Sub :: SONY DVP-NS76H :: SONY PS2 / PSP / PS3 :: SEGA Dreamcast :: Nintendo GameCube / GameBoy Advance :: Microsoft XBox / XBox 360 :: C= Amiga :: MAME :: PSN / XBox Live :: BradleyLove Last edited by Spank-A-Thon; 05-12-2006 at 4:07 PM. Those door hinges could do with a little bit of adjustment...
