Re: My new rear projection tele
It's better than ... I believe that projector is rated up to 2000 pixels horizontal resolution

Happy Days. Correctamundo I believe is the expression.
Built to last in 1998 this not so little baby has only just woken up. Less than 1,000 hours on tubes that are good for 10,000+
All I need now is an aircraft hanger ;-)

But only for low refresh rates. It won't do 1080p50 properly without modification - the projector won't have the bandwidth - but it's still a hell of a catch

Thanks Nick, I thnk you are right in that 1080p50 is beyond its scope, but this is my first venture into CRT projection and as I understand it 1080p50 is still some way away.
Longer term plan is 9" with as much bandwidth as can be had, 2500 x 2000p!
In the mean time I'm off to collect it and my PC and satelite card tomorrow and expect to have BBC HD on screen asap.
It also needs the anamorphic mod so is going to visit the CRT Projectors healthspar so it can have an mot and a spring clean (hope it wont be too dirty coming out of the Physics lab though!)
Watch this space.

Re: My new rear projection tele
It is 4:3 but at 82.5" who cares, other than the planning permission related issues.
Its been connected to an SGI Onyx 2 super computer in a physics lab and used for all sorts of cool stuff.

Unfortunately I cant accomodate the case and am really just after the projector which should do me nicely in a front projection system for a few years to come.

Two of them bolted together would have made a nice shed!
