can anyone pls offer a recommendation for one of the all in one printers (or machines to be avoided);

it will be mostly used for general excel/word printing some copying.

It would also be nice to print some decent quality photos on occasion from card/pictbridge.

I would hope to get one of these for under £80. So far i have been looking at the Lexmarks and HP machines.

Hello!

I'm not reccomending any particular printer with this post just a tip to check out the replacement ink cartridge prices on whatever you decide to go with as I've had my fingers burned in the past with Lexmark prices!

Must say I'm pretty happy with my Canon Pixma MP750 all in one, although I'm not sure you can still buy it.

Comes with separate ink cartridges, so you only replace the ones that are empty.

Cheers,

Martin.

I also have a Canon Pixma MP750 which does copies, prints and photo's without problems and to a very good quality.

Ink carts can be had at reasonable prices if you don't mind using none Canon replacements:smashin:

I just bought one for a customer which is a very nice piece of kit, comes with built in networking too, and is really easy to setup for network sharing, which is great considering everybody seems to have a network these days.

I'm pretty sure it's a HP C5100 (might be C5150). :)

I'm never buying an HP all in one again! When it runs out of colour, it refuses to print in black! :suicide:

I got a hp 1510 all in one photo printer, scanner and copier and i have to say i love it. I only use it now and again, and mainly for photos but it was cheap, reliable and it prints high quality. it's actually the second one i have had as the first one would comunicate with my pc. I'm not saying its the best but its worth a look.

I have the HP C4180. Very fast economical printing, great quality photo's, pictbridge, many card slots, decent screen on it, loads of copying functions. Will cost you about £85.

We're very happy with ours.

Dan.

I've just been setting up my new Canon Pixma MP600 which arrived yesterday. It's over your budget at £110 from pc world but my initial impressions are that it's money well spent. It was an absolute doddle to get it up and running. I printed a couple of documents off earlier and I'm very impressed with the quality of the text. I'll try some photo prints later today.
It meets all your requirements and has received some very positive reviews. Hopefully, it will last a bit longer than the 18 months of my Epson C42

I've got a Canon MP390, had it for years but it's got fax, scanner, copier, printer etc, along with pictbridge, borderless printing, and memory card slots. Absolutely magic, was £110 brand new so if you can pick one up now, even cheaper. The beauty of it is that the ink catridges it uses are the older Canon BC21 and BC24 black and colours (rather than separate colours) which I can pick up for much much less than a quid each! swish

The MP600 is a great all in one. It can be had for under £80 no problem if you buy it from where I bought mine. Go to a well known auction site and search for Canon Outlet. You have to bid but most of the MP600's go for between £60 and £75 + del. I got my one for £75 inc del. OK, so it's refurb but my one was pretty much brand new as I'm sure they all are. It came with all the manuals, discs, inks etc and in it's original box. Only thing you don't get (as with all other printers) is a USB cable.

I didn't think about Canon Outlet :suicide:
Never mind, I'm still pleased with my purchase :)
I've bought refurbished stuff in the past and have always been happy with the quality. £80 for the MP600 is a bargain
