xbox 360 and mce

i have finally decided to go for a 360 and put mce on to my pc to stream stuff (including hi def films)to my plasma(rather than a snazio or show center etc) over a hard wire network

i have a 42"panny pv500 and my connection options would be vga or component, with it having rectangular pixels does this have a adverse effect on mce and how it is displayed.

my current pc is on the limit for viewing hd stuff..but i take it it will just be a storage device and the xbox360 will handle the hi def video side of things
im after any advice on pitfalls set up tips and tweaks...

thanks for any help

Re: xbox 360 and mce

The 360 will work fine with your TV. You don't need to worry about pixel shapes or anything like that.

However, as things stand at the moment, you can't stream HD video from your hard disk to the 360 unless its in WMV or MPEG2 format, which most is not. Xvid or x264 require trnscoding on the fly, and besides the quality loss if you PC is on the dge for just playing HD it certainly won't be able to transcode it in real time. I belive if you havce MPEG2 .ts files you can do it with HDPump.

Yes that works fine (provided your network is up to it)
