Pre- power

Have recently purchased (due to pick them up on Friday) PMC FB! speakers. I heard a demo of these with Musical Fidelity A3 amp and cd that i already have and was impressed. However, when I went to pay for the PMC(bought them at a different shop to where they were demo'd - much cheaper) the salesman said I really should have the power amp, and use my integrated A3 as a pre-amp.
Would the gain in control be worth the £800 they are asking for the power amp, or do you think its just a salesmans way of getting more money.

Hi

I´ve heard that the PMC range of speakers need good amplification to get the best out of them (work very well with Bryston amps apparently).

Certainly might be worth a demo of the power amp running them, only you can decide if its worth the money.

Cheers
