Hi,

I've just installed Windows Vista RC2 on a new PC and thought I'd try setting up the Snazzio software (Snazzi Net Cinema) to stream movies and music over my network.

However when I run the software to configure it I just get the swirling circle 'egg timer' so can't access any of the menu options.

Anyone seen this behaviour on Vista or indeed the Snazzi software? I've installed a few other bits of software that seem to be working ok.

Any pointers appreciated.

Paul

Found some info on a snazzio forum on MPCClub.com confirming problems with getting the snazzi server software to run on Vista. They recommend using WizD Media Server (freeware) which is compatible with the Snazzio and Windows Vista.

Will give it a try. So you can all rest easy, panic over!

Just wondering, have you had any success with this?

I'm currently having the same problem :(

I've not tried to use the Snazzio software since, stayed with WizD which once configured (simple text based config file to specify locations of media) has been painless and is very reliable. WizD even has bookmarks so if you stop a movie or video file you can resume from that point later. Recommend looking into using that if you get no joy from the snazzio stuff.

Something I didn't try at the time (because I didn't know about it!) and worth a go is setting the compatibility mode back to XP. This can be done by right clicking on the program, selecting properties, and there should be a compatibility tab. I've successfully got several other programs working ok on Vista by setting their compatibility mode back to XP, so worth a try with the Snazzio server stuff. Good luck!
