Sony BDP-S1 Not coming to the UK?

Buried in the Hardware News section is this link.

Does this mean whatever Sony player does hit these shores will be BD-Live compatible? Still I think if true this is a strange decision by Sony as they have other BD products available here. They have also started shipping their new HDAVC camcorders which clearly state that playback of files is best done via a Blu-ray player... Surely some presence is better than none?

Nothing like sneaking out bomshells at 11.40 sunday night No great surprize here though but it would have been nice if Sony could have admitted it when asked a few weeks ago. Guess nothing changes BD seems to mean PS3 for Sony and not movies. Guess Samsung and Panasonic are really happy about launching a player and then have no support. Guess Samsung are used to it now rom Sony All in all pretty depressing for UK BD.
