Re: anyone have a nvidia7600 512mb gfx card
Those cards don't need 512mb, it's wasted on them. Better to save cash and go for the 256mb version unless they're the same price.
Whether they're any good depends on what you want to do with it.

Re: anyone have a nvidia7600 512mb gfx card

any recomendations for a card for playing new and upcoming games at good performances.

Re: anyone have a nvidia7600 512mb gfx card
Is your current motherboard AGP or PCI-E? If it's AGP, your cheapest option is to get a PCI-E board that supports your current processor and memory, and a 7900GS or 7900GTO. If you're already on PCI-E, then either of those 2 cards will just plug straight in and give you a massive increase in graphics horsepower.

Re: anyone have a nvidia7600 512mb gfx card
You have to move to pcie. You won't get much better than what you already got on agp. The 7900gto is a great buy at 160 pounds but I doubt that pc shop will have it.

Re: anyone have a nvidia7600 512mb gfx card
Lol, what I meant was I need to know what socket type your on (socket A, socket 754, socket 939, am2 etc.) and what type of ram you have (ddr or ddr2).

Yep, only heard about that yesterday. Would be alot easier than getting a whole new system.
