Sky+ Repairs/Engineers.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section - but I've done a search and cant find anything.

Anyway my Sky+ hard drive seems to have developed a fault, and rather than pay the £65 to Sky, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a local repair company in London (SW post code).

Many thanks

Why bother, it'll likely cost you more in the end. Don't forget the £65 fee includes a replacement box with a 90 warranty, if you go down the third-party repairer route you'll likely have to pay for parts and labour. If you hard disk is really on the way out then you can buy another, larger disc for around £60 and fit it yourself.

Re: Sky+ Repairs/Engineers.

Bizarrely it works finefor watching channels but wont record or allow me access to the planner?

Does anyone know if this is a hard drive problem. seems a little strange to me that it works one way but not the other?

Re: Sky+ Repairs/Engineers.

Sounds like either the HD is dead or they've disabled your Sky+ ...

What happens if you hit pause/try to rewind Live ?

Because he probably doesn't want so called recon boxes (probably Amstrad)and visit after visit from potential hapless Sky installers!
Going independant is nearly always going to be the best bet as at least you'll get a say in the product you end up with.

Cheers, Franc
