Hi,
Havent had to post any issues with pcs before and now I have posted 2 in a day!.
I volunteered to fit, for another friend of mine ( wow i have 2 friends !) a new dvd writer. I had done my own and it was no problem, so I did his.
He had a dvd rom drive and a cd writer ( which was the drive I was replacing)
I got the new drive in, and loaded up , it was recognised and installed, loaded nero, drive was there as an available recorder.
Put a blank DVDr in and chose some bits to burn, it said it was starting, then after 20 seconds came up with an error "DMA Driver Error CRC Error"
It did it with cds and other branded DVDrs
I had made sure that the jumper on the rear of the drive was in the same position as the old one.
The data ribbon comes into the DVDrom drive then terminates at the new drive.
I pulled out the power from the back of the original DVDrom and tried the new one again and it burnt no problems, so the other drive was some how causing problems. But I need to have both drives working ideally
Any ideas?
