Re: Anyone used this installation company?
For such a large company I have never heard of them.
If I am honest this is where I am trying to end up and they seem to be one step ahead of me- So the below is probably biased.
They claim to do 5000 installs a month in-home, and 4000 in-car per month.
They have a total of 45 engineers so the sums don't really add up.

Hey Tesla, don't be such a cynic, they could be installing very, very quickly
(ex-Sky engineers perhaps?)

Re: Anyone used this installation company?
If their engineers work 8 hours days, 5 days a week, thats 45 minutes per instal, not including tea/lunch/toilet/smoke/travel time. So unless they use hyper-efficient robots who are capable of working at superhuman speed and then travelling to their next appointment by stepping 'outside time', I dont get the sums either.
Only 2 ways that I can see they can do it, either they subcontract most stuff, and add their own cut on top, or they just do very very simple stuff like plug in scart leads and tune videos.
They sent me a pen once, it broke.

My business do what most on here would call simple installs. It's what I set out to do and the sort of market I target.
However, I have come across some real pigs of VCR's which are a pain in the bum to tune! LOL!
It takes me longer than 45minutes to do the job properly and tidily. I wonder if anybody has any further info on this company. I am interested to hear how they do it.

Re: Anyone used this installation company?
I bet you cant travel outside time either, nor do you have a legion of unstoppable robot workers. Lets just be glad their sticking to Instals, not trying to take over the galaxy!
And my pen broke
Bah!
But yes, I believe they subcontract. Give them a call and ask them if they have any work for you, then get some regular customers, and run off with them, seems to be what a lot of people in the industry do!

Re: Anyone used this installation company?
Hi Tesla, I started my own install company about 3 months ago. I have only done 7 wall mountings but I have already come across a job supposedly "done" by this company. I went to the property in Birmingham and the plaster was seriously cracking around the mount. So I and my business partner went to re-fit the bracket using much stronger materials. From this I reckon wecanfitit probably do subcontract and are not picky about who they choose!
Anyway from one new startup to another good luck!

Re: Anyone used this installation company?
Hmmm...that's interesting...I've come across them in relation to fitting car audio systems, and they are supposedly quite good. Totally different to custom AV installation though, lets face it. I had got the impression they were a 'network' of fitters (so sub-contractors then), but I can't be sure.

Re: Anyone used this installation company?
A network like this is only as good as the sub-contractor for your area and how well installers are vetted for quality/reliability/knowledge etc. So if you have had a really good job done by their Manchester subbie, it gives no indication of how good their Liverpool guy is for example.
But yes, I've had to fix one of theirs in the London area. Similar to Dave, installer hadn't used correct fittings nor made good adequately.

Re: Anyone used this installation company?
It seems to me that their "fits per month" figure for their b2b activities probably refers to "screens / components fitted per month" ie. several on each job not taking terribly long (eg. today 2 of us fitted 6 screens in a few hours, even though I was preoccupied with the audio system throughout most of that time)
