Re: Evesham DVD1000...

Yes I have had it for around a month now. Have played around a dozen discs from all regions, and also recordable discs mainly in the RW plus format. It has played all discs without fault just one hicup when it locked up, just powered off and it was ok again. I have it connected up to a panny 700 onto a 82inch screen via HDMI picture looks excellent and for £70 its a steal until HDDVD sorts itself out. I previously and still do own a Pioneer DV668i and it equals if not slightly betters this.

Re: Evesham DVD1000...

Well, went and took the plunge tonight. Just finished pluging it all up. Must say the pic is excellent through HDMI.

The only wierd thing I found so far is the fact that the backlight on the players buttons is only on when in Standbye. When you switch it on the light goes out. Not very helpful should your batteries in the remote go.

Other than that I have found no fault with it. Multi region works. I have not tried DiVx yet as I have not got into that world up until now.

Steve....What do you find best viewing..I can't decide between 720P and 1080i? Do you know how the Auto setting affects this? The manual is very good for everything else, but, doesn't go into HDMI at all.

Re: Evesham DVD1000...

This is something I'm really thinking about... I haven't got the dosh to get the Cambridge and I wouldn't bother paying anything more when concerning another Mid-Fi manufacturer.

Anyone got a link/ the Evesham site states that its in stock from 18/12/06
