£150 ish graphics card

hi, i am using an ati x800xt (256 mb) which i think is on the way out so i am in the market for a new pci-e graphics card. Which one would offer better speeds and frame rates for £150 or thereabouts? it can be either ati or nvidia.
cheers

My X800 XT PE card died a few months ago so I replaced it with the midrange X1600 Pro 512MB AGP card, so far it appears to be better than the X800 I had, I only brought it for a stop-cap until I fully upgrade my system next year to quad core & sli pci-e.

256MB Sapphire RX1650 Pro PCI-E @ £80.48 at Scan.co.uk
or
256MB Sapphire Radeon X1900XT PCI-E 16, Slightly over your budget though @ £178.59 at Scan.co.uk

You could always get 2x RX1650's in Crossfire, if you board supports it that is.

Hope the above helps.

Re: £150 ish graphics card

Might be worth going for a slightly more expensive card and then when you have the money get the mastercard edition for lovely crossfire!

That is if you have dual pci-e on your mobo.

Re: £150 ish graphics card

Connect 3d ati x1900xt 256mb for £167 from ebuyer.

It's a very high end card for the price. It won tomshardware's award for value in the sub £200 category in their October round-up, and it's well under £200. In fact, the sub£300 cards are described as 'not being worth the mark-up from the 1900xt'.

I hope that helps,

V

Palit 7900GS - can unlock with Rivatuner - £120 from Scan

That card from Overclockers is excellent value though.
