Using Denon AVC-A11XVA For Scaling

I don't know if this is the best place to post - but here goes.

I have just ordered the above amp and I would like to connect SKY HD via component with the hope that SD channel pictures will be scaled to 1080p @ 24HZ out via HDMI (I understand the pioneer can accept this signal and scale back). The question is would this be worthwhile?

Also would I be able to set the HD box to automatic or would this confuse the amp's scaler? I .Aso understand that if I leave a direct HDMI connection to the screen form SKYHD for true 1080i material, then I will not be able to get 576i out via component (only 576p and above).

I like to know before I buy a decent set of component leads.

Any advice much appreciated.

Might be worth sending Jase a PM as he is the Denon expert or try posting this in the Denon sub forum

Thanks for the suggestion, Jase does not have SKYHD so could not answer. I'll mail Denon and see what they say.
