View Full Version : Any news about HD sport on NTL/TW?

I'm moving flat and was keen to get SKY HD. However, the place I'm moving to doesn't appear to allow dishes on the building so it looks like I'm getting cable.

A quick perusal suggests that SKY sports HD isn't available. Any subscribers know when this will be available?

Cheers!

EDIT: Found this thread which doesn't appear too promising at the moment

"Yep i do ive just had an NTL engineer around here and he told me about it. He said the box and installation is free and will only cost about 3 extra pound a month. And, you can watch one channel and record upto THREE channels at the same time which is cool. But, get in there quick as they are getting snapped up fast and being limited to one per household. Oh and in case u didnt no NTL changes to Virgin Media on 14 of feb."

This is NOT going to get you any HD content from Sky though. You'll have the BBC HD trial channel and a few teleport movies in HD. That's if for HD stuff, I'm afraid.

It is most definitely HD but TW/NTL/V+ do not have any rights to Sky's HD programming. So no Sky HD, I'm afraid.

To be fair TW have been saying that for a year now. I've had my TVdrive for 12 months, at first we were told "We're in negotiations", then it was "coming soon", then it was "intime for the start of the season" then it was "sometime in the new year".... We're all still waiting.

I'm optimistic that virgin media will be good for cable, but in the short term i'm not expecting much. Unfortunatly i'm stuck with cable as i'm in a flat and can't get sky HD. But i'm not holding my breath!

Perhaps when the march exodus begins from TW something might happen...
