View Full Version : Which XP game to test 2560x1600 res on a Mac Pro

I had a play last week with a Mac Pro Quad 3Ghz Xenon running XP Pro with X1900 on a 30inch 2560x1600 Apple screen and it looked pretty good.
Now I am getting my own Quad 3Ghz Xenon, 4GB RAM, ATI X1900 512MB next week and will install XP Pro SP2 via Bootcamp (Dual boot).
I have a 2560 x1600 res Apple 30 inch screen and what to show off some higher than HD gaming, so what games are a good test?

I don't know of any games that support that resoultion, I reckon you'll be hard pressed to find one game.

I'm also pretty sure the doom3 engined games go that high... quake 4 etc...

Any game that can have it's resolution hacked? Doom 3, NFS:MW and FEAR spring to mind as easily hackable.

I use the dell 30" at the same resolution.
Im playing "Company of Heroes" and that can go to 2560X1600.
Looks amazing!
Prey also goes pretty high res wize, I think it does 2560X1600, I think Quake 4 does too. Counter Strike Source does and that also looks really nice.
I started playing it again since I got the 30" dell and its like a whole new game at that res.
And performance wise its good even on my 7900GT.
