Has anybody got Sky Broadband and what problems have you had?
Got mine going last night and the connection is intermittent. It is really fast for 10 minutes and then won't work at all.

Got the equipment just now, and only waiting for BT to enable the line for it... should be early next week so I'll let you know if I have problems too.

One thing that has annoyed me already though is that when I told ntl I was leaving them they checked what speed the telephone exchange I'd be on could provide and the maximum speed is 5MB. Now Sky have told me I can have up to 16MB on the line. Should I challenge them about it?

I'm not too bothered because at the moment with ntl I'm paying £17 every month for 1MB but with Sky I'll be paying £10 every month for either 5MB or 16MB depending on who you believe.

Cheers,
Tez.

I have the Max package and after a few glitches it's been stable at about 6Meg this evening. Way faster than my old ISP so I'm pretty happy.

I took careful note about the router getting very hot, listed on the skyuser forum. Since standing the router up my connection has been very stable today

I still cant get it....

Are they slowly leaking it out to the public or what, because I can "get it" and I have a BT line etc, but I can only pre register to show my interest for it:rolleyes:

So Sky are saying I can have up to 16MB but the exchange I'm on can only supply up to 5MB.

But surely they can't claim I can get up to 16MB if it's actually a physical impossibility? I could happily live with the fact that I could get 16MB at quiet times but only got 5-10MB at other times... but the fact that I'll never be able to get that speed no matter how busy the service is just annoys me.

I know that I'll have a faster service than the 1MB I currently have but it's still annoying.
