Re: Pinnacle Studio - sound lasts longer than images in scene
You may have inadvertently disbanded Video and Audio . You need to keep them linked to avoid this
If you go to timeline view, on the extreme right hand side of each track you will notice a padlock sign for each of the "tracks" .For video tracks there also is a little button to " make invisible"
In addition for audio tracks there is a small speaker sign to mute the audio in that track if you wish to partly or wholly replace it without removing it: I mention these for the sake of completeness as it is the padlock you need.
The padlock sign toggles on and off. If you want to keep the video linked with the audio ( as you obviously do), click on the audio tracks padlock sign to "lock it" ( should say "Lock the main audio track"). This should have the effect of ensuring that any trimming ( or indeed anything) you do to the video track is accompanied by simultaneous actions to the audio.
As it happens this ability to unlock ( ie have the elements unlinked) is actually good as it gives you independent control of each track for versatility. For instance If you record a voice-over and its placement , volume, and duration do not match the main video you can correct that without altering the video itself. It is used for advanced timeline editing such as "insert editing" and Split editing with "L" and "J" cuts
The downside is inadvertently arriving at what you now experience or of inadvertently creating an A/V out of synch edit.
Thankfully with NLE editing , it is non destructive and the original clip can be reedited
